State Spring Summative Testing Window Opens

Students in Juab School District will participate in state end-of-year testing throughout the Spring testing window which opens on March 25, 2024, and closes on May 17, 2024.  The purpose of state testing is to allow our students to show what they know and can do. Results from statewide assessments provide our district, as well as parents, the public, the Legislature, the Board of Education, and teachers with a standardized source of measurement information about student proficiency and growth. This information, in combination with other locally collected data, helps us to evaluate the effectiveness of school programs.

It should be noted that the 2023-24 school year will be the last year of KEEP administration. The state will no longer require the KEEP assessment after this year.  In the past, KEEP administration has necessitated a later start for kindergarteners in August and an earlier last day of school in May. Beginning with the 2024-25 school year, Kindergarteners will follow the same calendar, starting and ending on the same day of school as students in grades 1-12.

Parents wishing to exclude their student(s) from any state test may file the Parental Exclusion form with their student’s school principal/office. Parents must file a new form each year. We respectfully request 24-hours notice to avoid exposing students to an excluded test. Please contact your student’s school for information about class and grade-specific testing schedules. For further information about state testing please contact your child’s school principal or Sandra Nielsen at the Juab School District office: 623-1940 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
