We're Celebrating Computer Science Week!

Computers are everywhere, changing every industry on the planet. As part of Computer Science Education Week (December 6-10), Juab School District is participating in Hour of Code. The goal of Hour of Code is to demystify “code” and to give students a fun experience as they learn about computer science. Even though not all students will pursue computer science, the principles taught are a great vehicle for teaching students how to critically think, collaborate, communicate, and be creative.

Participating in Hour of Code is simply as there are many lesson plans and online interactive activities provided by Code.org. There are computer science lessons that relate to various topics like math, science, social studies, art, and English that you could integrate into what you are currently teaching. We would love for as many teachers to check out the resources for Hour of Code and to set up an activity with their students. Feel free to engage with Hour of Code anytime throughout the year that would work better for your classes.
