📚❤️ A Proud Moment for Mona Elementary School ❤️📚
Yesterday, Mona Elementary was honored to receive the first Literacy Leadership and Impact Award from Governor Cox for improving literacy outcomes for students. Principal Brandi Webster, along with Mona Elementary’s 3rd grade team, had the opportunity to share Mona’s story with Governor Cox, the First Lady, and more than 250 senators, legislators, leaders, and partners. Our teachers and students have worked incredibly hard, and yesterday that work was celebrated.
We are grateful for every member of the Mona Elementary team—our teachers, instructional assistants, secretaries, counselors, instructional coach, speech team, lunch staff, custodians, and bus drivers. It truly takes every one of us. Because of their dedication and collective belief, our students have made significant gains in early literacy over the past five years.
We are proud of our students, our parents, and our community. Early literacy matters—it lays the foundation for everything that comes next. We love our students, we believe in them, and we are committed to their success every single day.
