Our Elf on the Shelf made a surprise return today, and it was such a fun reminder of how much we love our students and the joy they bring to our school. The kids were so excited — singing along, smiling big, and soaking up the magic of the Christmas spirit. 🎶💫

✨ Kindergarten Gingerbread Day! ✨
Our kinders had the sweetest day—starting with a school-wide Gingerbread Hunt and ending with building their very own gingerbread houses. 🏠🍬
There was giggling, teamwork, frosting everywhere, and pure December magic. ✨
These little learners made memories just as wonderful as their creations!

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing families, our food drive brought in nearly 500 pounds of food. Yesterday, our student leaders delivered every box to support families in need. They also helped deliver full Thanksgiving dinners to families right here in our community.
We are so proud of their service, kindness, and the heart they put into helping others. This is what BE MONA looks like in action. 💛

We were honored to welcome Lt. Governor Henderson and her staff to Mona Elementary today to learn more about our K–3 literacy program and to see our students and teachers in action. During her visit, she observed classrooms, reviewed student progress toward our reading goals, and spoke with teachers about strategies that help every student succeed. We are so proud of our students for reaching their literacy goals and showing what’s possible when teachers, families, and the community work together! ✨

Mona Elementary is excited to welcome Stacey Smith as our new Head Custodian!
Stacey has lived in Mona for 9 years with her husband, Jed, and their two children, Kayli (14) and Tuck (8). She has worked as a part-time custodian at Mona Elementary for the past 3 years and already loves being part of our school family, especially because of our amazing students and staff.
Outside of work, Stacey enjoys camping and snowboarding with her family, watching her kids do the things they love, reading, cleaning, and photography.
We are grateful to have Stacey in this important role and look forward to a wonderful year together at MES! 💙
