Juab School District Super News

One of the greatest opportunities we have in education is creating the moments when the light turns on for a student—when learning suddenly becomes exciting, meaningful, and fun.

This past week, our district experienced several of those moments as two of our elementary schools hosted literacy events focused on helping students and families strengthen reading skills and develop a lifelong love of learning.

On Monday, March 2, Red Cliffs Elementary School welcomed 500-plus visitors for their Dr. Seuss-themed Literacy Night. Families filled the halls as students and parents participated in engaging reading activities that celebrated the joy of books and literacy. Classrooms were buzzing with energy as local first responders joined students for some fun reading sessions. Teachers got creative with reading maps and games, showing everyone just how exciting and enjoyable reading can be! The event highlighted how reading can bring families together while helping students build important comprehension and language skills.

Just a few miles away that same evening, Mona Elementary School, led by Principal Brandi Webster and her dedicated staff, welcomed more than 420 parents and students for an evening of reading activities, book clubs, and parent trainings. Sessions included reading motivation, choosing books at the right reading level, strengthening oral language, and supporting math learning. Mrs. Topham also shared practical ways parents can keep students engaged in reading at home and discussed research showing how vocabulary development grows significantly when families regularly read together. The evening was a powerful reminder that when families, teachers, and the community work together, students thrive.

Events like these remind us that education works best when schools and families work together. When dedicated teachers partner with engaged parents and enthusiastic students, something special happens: learning becomes exciting, confidence grows, and students begin to see the possibilities that education can bring.

Across the Juab School District, our schools are doing incredible things each day to support students and strengthen our community. Literacy nights like these are just one example of the many ways our teachers and staff go above and beyond to create meaningful learning opportunities.

I want to personally thank the teachers, administrators, and staff members who organized these events and continue to invest their time, energy, and passion into helping our students succeed.

If you know a teacher or staff member in one of our schools, please take a moment to thank them for their dedication and service to our children and community.

We are proud of our schools, our families, and most importantly, our students. #JuabProud
