This week, we have been celebrating our school counselor and skills coach! A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Walters (School Counselor) and Ms. Taylor (Skills Coach). Your love, dedication, and care help build our students’ confidence, strengthen important life skills, and support their growth academically, emotionally, and socially. Our school is better because of you. 💛

This group of students will work together to represent their peers, support school initiatives, and help make our school an even better place. Way to lead by example—we are so proud of you!

Today, Mona Elementary School had the honor of presenting to over 250 Utah leaders, legislators, and partners about how we are improving literacy and learning for children. Sharing Mona Elementary’s story with the Governor, First Lady, Senators, legislators, and education leaders was a truly humbling and meaningful experience.
This moment reflects the incredible dedication of our entire school community. Our teachers and students have worked tirelessly, and today their hard work was celebrated. Principal, Mrs Webster states, "I am deeply grateful for every member of our Mona Elementary team — teachers, instructional assistants, secretaries, counselors, instructional coach, speech staff, lunch staff, custodians, and bus drivers. It truly takes all of us."
Principal Webster continues, "Because of their commitment and shared belief in our students, we have seen significant gains in early literacy over the past five years. Early literacy matters — it builds the foundation for everything that comes next. We love our students, we believe in them, and we are committed to their success every single day."

Our Elf on the Shelf made a surprise return today, and it was such a fun reminder of how much we love our students and the joy they bring to our school. The kids were so excited — singing along, smiling big, and soaking up the magic of the Christmas spirit. 🎶💫

Our kinders had the sweetest day—starting with a school-wide Gingerbread Hunt and ending with building their very own gingerbread houses. 🏠🍬
There was giggling, teamwork, frosting everywhere, and pure December magic. ✨
These little learners made memories just as wonderful as their creations!
❤️ We love our Mona kindergarteners!

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing families, our food drive brought in nearly 500 pounds of food. Yesterday, our student leaders delivered every box to support families in need. They also helped deliver full Thanksgiving dinners to families right here in our community.
We are so proud of their service, kindness, and the heart they put into helping others. This is what BE MONA looks like in action. 💛

What an incredible day for our 2nd and 4th graders! They wrapped up the RAD Kids program—learning how to be strong, confident, and capable of protecting themselves and making safe choices. 💪💛
We’re so proud of our students for practicing courage, and believing in their own power. A HUGE thank you to our amazing volunteers, Juab County, and everyone who helps make this program possible for our kids. ✨

At Mona Elementary, we’re so lucky to have someone who pours her heart into helping both students and teachers grow. From modeling lessons and supporting classrooms to cheering on every bit of progress, Mrs. Darrington makes a difference every single day.
Thank you for your guidance, patience, and dedication—you make learning magical at Mona Elementary! 💫
They go above and beyond every single day to keep our school running smoothly and to care for our students and staff. Our students adore them, and it’s no surprise—they are kind, caring, and always willing to help. We’re so grateful for all they do for our school family! 🌟

How cute are these pictures?! Our little learners are having so much fun practicing their letters in shaving cream! This hands-on activity makes learning letters exciting and memorable. We love seeing their creativity, giggles, and focus as they explore the magic of writing in such a fun way.

🌟 Congratulations to our 1st Quarter Student Leadership Council! 🌟
We’re so proud of these students for stepping up as leaders and role models in our school community. Their dedication, positivity, and commitment to making a difference set a wonderful example for their peers.

Stacey has lived in Mona for 9 years with her husband, Jed, and their two children, Kayli (14) and Tuck (8). She has worked as a part-time custodian at Mona Elementary for the past 3 years and already loves being part of our school family, especially because of our amazing students and staff.
Outside of work, Stacey enjoys camping and snowboarding with her family, watching her kids do the things they love, reading, cleaning, and photography.
We are grateful to have Stacey in this important role and look forward to a wonderful year together at MES! 💙

Smiles, laughter, and learning everywhere you look! Thank you, families, for trusting us with your amazing kids — we can’t wait to see the magic grow all year long!
