Superintendent's Message: May 1

JuabSD families,

As the winds of April are beginning to settle and the cold temps boast their last hurrahs, our minds and hearts look forward to summer…finally. It has been a long year for many, if not all, of us. Even so, together we have done great work. It has not always been easy, but we have been successful in so many ways. With summer comes our sense of a new beginning, leading to a greater desire for freedom and normalcy. I can almost feel it in my bones. I continue to encourage all of us to exercise mindfulness and caution in our choices, to continue to minimize the risk to our fragile loved ones and community members.

I want to thank everyone for your kindness, grace, and cooperation as our faculty and staff members worked this year to provide quality learning experiences for our students and to support their efforts.

I have been amazed by the flexibility, tenacity, and creativity that our students have shown as they have navigated this new and different year of accessing their education. Our students are resilient and I know that they will come through this year having learned important lessons about themselves as learners and individuals.

For now, I wanted simply to reach out to say thank you and to remind everyone to not miss the opportunity over these last four weeks to celebrate and appreciate our students and the JuabSD teachers and staff.

Respectfully,

Dr. Hughes
