Background Checks

New Employee Background Checks

The Juab School District is responsible to protect the safety of all students and to protect District property.  To help meet this responsibility and to comply with the laws of the State of Utah, Juab School District requires employees and volunteers to undergo a criminal background check.  This background check is considered part of the District’s hiring process.

All new employees are required to complete a background check as a condition of employment. Some volunteers will also be required to complete a background check. Certified employees will not be required to complete a background check if they hold a valid teaching license.

Volunteer Background Checks

School-level volunteers, including field trip chaperones and in-class helpers, must complete a one-time background check. The school will communicate with volunteers to coordinate needed background checks.

Background Checks for Outside Entities
Background checks for outside entities are available by appointment only. A valid government-issued photo ID is required, as well as the authorization for LiveScan fingerprinting paperwork, and $30.00 cash. We do not accept checks or credit cards for payment in our office.

Instructions for Background Checks

New employees, substitutes, and volunteers will be fingerprinted at the District Office and will be asked to provide personal identification such as a drivers license, Social Security Card, etc.  A fee will be charged to cover the cost of the background check.

Please call Human Resources at (435-623-1940) to schedule an appointment for fingerprinting.
