Employees may take up to 3 days of leave for the death of an immediate family member.  Immediate family is defined as spouse, father, mother, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son, son-in-law, daughter, daughter-in-law, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandchildren, grandparents, grandparents of spouse, stepparents and stepsiblings of employee or spouse, and any person residing in the employee’s household.  Leave for the death of an immediate family member may not be banked or carried over. The building principal or direct supervisor must approve extenuating circumstances that may arise in regard to bereavement leave.

Bereavement Leave is separate from Personal Leave.
